1) Less popular use of the term: Part of the LGBT+ community; it refers to someone who experiences gender in a different way during dreams than they do during wakefulness.

2) A made-up term by fans of the popular YouTuber Dream who have tried to turn a person into a gender. This version of dreamgender is not accepted by the LGBT+ community, but it is unfortunately the more popular use of the term.
Definition 1:
- I'm dreamgender. I use he/him pronouns and identify as male, but I always feel more like a girl when I'm dreaming.

Definition 2:
- You're dreamgender, like the YouTuber Dream? I think Dream's gender is male, do you mean you are male? No? You are Dream? I'm sorry, I think Dream is a person, not a gender. Gender doesn't work that way. Stop trying to co-opt a valid LGBT+ identity.

1) The less popular use of the term: Part of the LGBT+ community, and specifically the asexual spectrum. It refers to someone who does not experience sexual attraction, except during dreams. A person who is dreamsexual would be asexual during wakefulness but allosexual when dreaming.

2) A term invented by fans of the YouTuber Dream who wanted to be internet trolls. Overshadowing the real and valid definition, Dream fans decided to turn their fandom into a sexuality, even going as far as creating a fake pride flag that looks a lot like the grayromantic pride flag. Unfortunately, this definition has overshadowed the other one on the internet.
Definition 1:
- I'm dreamsexual, which means I don't experience sexual attraction unless I'm dreaming.

Definition 2:
- What do you mean, your attraction to Dream is a sexual orientation? Isn't that simply a celebrity crush? Celebrity crushes are valid, but they aren't separate orientations. That's not how that works.
