The Dota genre is an emerging gaming genre popular in the streets of New York and Michigan.

The objective of games in the Dota Genre is for each team to destroy the opponents' crib - heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the hood.

Players level up their gangs and use the dough to buy equipment during the gang wars. Leveling up improves the gangster's toughness and damage and allows players to pimp their weapons or skills.

The game is highly team-oriented; it is difficult for one player to carry the team to victory alone. Nevertheless, some great players can change the outcome single-handedly like Michael Jordan did with the Jazz back in '98.

Most Dota Genre Games offer a variety of game modes, selected by the noob game host at the beginning of the match. The most prevalent game mode in the World Cyber Games is Easy Mode (EM)
Homie # 1: Yo dawg, haven't seen Ice Homie here in Detroit for awhile. Wanted to play some dota genre.

Homie # 2: Yeah, Ice Homie's been busy hanging out with his new crew in Washington. Heard they're workin' on their Dota genre skills.

Homie #3 (arrives): You got that right Homie #2. We have secret Dota genre training goin' on. And there ain't nuthin you can do about it. Heck, we even trademarked Dota for good measure to make some dough.

Homie #4: (whines) Fo' real? You trademarked Dota? Why? (cries)

Ice Homie: Stop whining Homie #4, go up to your room and play Hello Kitty Online.
