palash

A solid orange-red color flower, curved petals like rooster head found in Southern Asia mainly bangladesh ,India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia,. Scientific name "Butea monosperma", also called Flame of the Forest and bastard tree as it's timber used in shipbuilding. Palash flowers are used to prepare a traditional Holi colour. It is also used as a dyeing color for fabric and medicine. Also this tree has been used in Punjabi literature extensively.
