female buddy

A female friend that a male secretly looks out for, supports, and shares with. Basically the same as a female friend but more intimate. Often occurs when the male is harboring a crush on the female.

Friend #1: "Who's the chick? Your girlfriend?"
Friend #2: "No, she's my female buddy."
