The Richmond Tigers in the Australian Football League are synonymous with finishing 9th on the ladder, and subsequently just missing out on making the "top 8" and playing finals. Ending the season in ninth spot, is literally the most agonisingly useless position in the competition.
"Lol! Looks like the Tigers will miss finals again this season. Good old Ninthmond, back where they belong! Hahaha!"
