State or condition when a person has unintentionally reached a completely different and unrelated internet destination than the destination at which the person originally intended to arrive by clicking on links on successive webpages (such as on Wikipedia or YouTube), to the point that the person cannot remember how he or she arrived there, or possibly even what the original destination was.
I was researching my term paper last night, but got so linklost that before I knew it, I had gone from reading how Hannibal crossed the Alps to learning Snooki was adopted (can you believe she's Chilean?!).

The trail of webpages in your history that can lead a person back from the webpage the person is currently visiting to the webpage the person originally intended to visit, especially if the person has become linklost.
I got totally linklost and forgot why I was even on the internet in the first place, but fortunately I followed the trail of webcrumbs back to where I was supposed to be.
