Fortune Cookie Brand

A clothing or lifestyle brand that relies exclusively on vague, inspirational, or "deep" text-based graphics rather than unique design or artistry. These brands produce apparel—usually basic hoodies and t-shirts—featuring phrases that sound profound but are essentially hollow platitudes.

Much like a fortune cookie, the messaging is designed to be universally applicable, mildly optimistic, and ultimately disposable. Common themes include "Growth," "Perspective," "Self-Love," or "The Journey," often printed in a clean serif font or a minimalist "bubble" script.
"I was going to buy that hoodie, but then I realized it’s just another Fortune Cookie Brand selling a $70 sweatshirt that says 'Bloom Where You Are Planted' in Helvetica."
