Freelance-fade

A phenomenon affecting male freelance writers, editors and translators. When the need to earn enough money to eat, time-zones and deadlines combine to mean that you do not see the light of day for several days and therefore do not feel the need to shave. The resulting stubble: freelance-fade.

His girlfriend longed to kiss him, but his freelance-fade scuffed up her porcelain cheeks.
