The act of letting your colleagues/parents/partner/friends/children down by making a fool of yourself in any one of thousands of everyday tasks or sporting endeavours.

'So, Tiger, all you had to do was pitch the ball on the green and tap in for a birdie but it looks like you've ended up in the heavy fescue at the back!'
