Bird

A defensive player flailing hopelessly and missing a blocked shot, most often caused from a well-executed pump fake.

Term was coined by former NBA Star and current Cleveland Cavaliers broadcaster, Austin Carr, who regularly uses the term when calling games.

He got himself a bird on that play.
