software fascism describes the process of a piece of software actively engaging into pushing better alternatives out of the competition by creeping into spaces far outside its actual purpose and by making said spaces dependent on itself.
Eventually it leads to it being not replaceable by the better alternative and people are forever stuck with that garbage.
Sysadmin 1: Damn my servers are running like shit!
Sysadmin 2: Yea thats because you have let that garbage of systemd into your distro and now all of your applications depend on it due to software fascism and you are stuck with it forever.
Sysadmin 1: No one could have seen that coming.
