Bargus

A bargus is a sniglet used to describe the perpetually smeared spot on a windshield that cannot be cleared by the windshield wiper. The term was coined by Rich Hall in the early 1980s on a cable television show called, Not Necessarily the News. Hall co-wrote and starred in the satirical comedy series from 1983 until 1990 where he coined the term "sniglet" to describe newly created words. He collected and published several volumes of books of them.
We had a hard time finding the left turn lane, and could not see the left turn arrow, due to the bargus on our windshield.
