antigy

Antigy is giving substance to something that does not exist in reality. A measurement or description is antigic if it is only observable through the absence of something observable, commonly with regards to silence, darkness, and coldness; which describe the lack of measurable sound, light, and heat, respectively. An easy way to understand antigy is realizing that silence cannot actually be heard.
"I looked in the fridge and counted zero beers." Is a fun example of antigy, used as a potentially humorous emphasis on the lack of beers. This is antigic because zero is the lack of counting.

Although we often keep doors shut in the winter to 'keep the cold out', that is an antigic notion. In reality, we are describing the desire to keep the heat in. Cold is an antigy, while heat is an energy. There is no cold energy, only heat energy.

"Although antigic, the silence in the room was deafening." Sound exists as a sensation, while silence is specifically the lack of auditory sensation. In this example, antigy is used in hyperbole to accentuate how profound an antigic experience can be.

A wall can be painted black, but describing a wall as 'very black' is an example of antigy. Quantifying blackness and darkness are antigic descriptions, as light has substance and can be measured, but darkness can only be measured by not measuring light.

"My husband is always gone!," could be said to be slightly antigic, since the husband is most likely not completely 'gone' from existence. A less antigic way to say the same thing would be "My husband is always gone from home" or "My husband is always away."

Being nowhere, doing nothing, meeting nobody, and having none - are antigic phrases - since something cannot be 'nowhere', one cannot 'do' nothing, you cannot 'meet' nobody, and you cannot 'have' none. Nowhere by itself is an antigic word since 'nowhere' simply does not exist.
