A term commonly used (even today) by non-Asian people calling other Asians "Chinese".

White boy: "What's up, Chinese?"

Asian boy: "I'm not Chinese, I'm Japanese."

White boy: "Whatever, Same shit!"

Asian boy: "No it's not!"
