rusobot

rusobot - a portmanteau of Russian and robot.

rus - shorthand for Russia or Russian identity
bot - internet slang for automated or ideologically robotic behavior

Used to describe individuals or accounts perceived as parroting Russian propaganda or behaving like ideological automatons in political discourse. They exhibit uncanny ability to derail any conversation with "But what about NATO?" Can be a paid troll, a useful idiot, or just someone who thinks RT is a lifestyle brand. (see also: internet troll, useful idiot)

Earliest definition comes from Reddit user ArtisZ:

A person (or bot) exhibiting callous audacity and repugnant impudence - typically used to describe someone who gaslights indiscriminately, whether they're a paid propagandist, a useful idiot, or just parroting Kremlin (or other entity) narratives. Can be human or digital, Russian or otherwise. If it walks like a bot and talks like a bot, it's probably a rusobot.

Usage Notes:

- Not exclusive to Russians. Anyone can be a rusobot with enough cognitive dissonance and a Telegram account. ;)
- Warning: prolonged exposure may result in spontaneous conspiracy theorizing and an aversion to facts.

Side effects include compulsive whataboutism.
Every time he deflects with whataboutism and denies the obvious, he sounds like a total rusobot.

Classic rusobot - I mention war crimes, he replies with ‘biolabs’ and a 12-paragraph rant on ancient history.
