The act of brewing the morning's first pot of coffee in such a bleary-eyed, near-dreamstate that you neglect to place the carafe under the brew spout, leading to a hot, wet, unholy mess that must straightaway be explained to a partner or roommate for their own safety.
"The lake of steaming hot coffee all over the kitchen floor is the result of me, yet again, starting the machine well before I was fully awake and in any condition to properly operate such complicated equipment, a.k.a., sleepbrewing. I'm going back to bed."
