Someone or something that used to matter to you but doesn’t anymore. Lost in the crowd, overlooked, and not worth picking back up. Like finding a penny in the grass: technically still there, but you don’t care enough to grab it.

I used to confide in this guy, he was my brother for life! Now, he's just another penny in the grass.
