Backburner 

A Backburner is someone you'd wait for, your favorite someone, but they'd leave you for their "someone else" without hesitation, they'd use you as a move on material, if they did that then YOUR their backburner. You basically settled for being their backburner without knowing.

"when will you choose me?"
"never, because im waiting for someone else, your my backburner."
