A form of anxiety in which the mind continues preparing for an anticipated event even after the event has been canceled or is no longer going to happen. The brain keeps running the “what if” scenarios, as though the event were still approaching, because it has not yet let go of the expectation.
I know the meeting got canceled, but I still feel tense. It’s like anticoty. My brain keeps preparing for a evening I don’t even have to have anymore.
