Feminism

The advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.
True feminists treat men, women and gender non-conforming people as equal. They respect all people.

Anyone can be a feminist, regardless of gender.

“Some people ask: “Why the word feminist? Why not just say you are a believer in human rights, or something like that?” Because that would be dishonest. Feminism is, of course, part of human rights in general—but to choose to use the vague expression human rights is to deny the specific and particular problem of gender. It would be a way of pretending that it was not women who have, for centuries, been excluded. It would be a way of denying that the problem of gender targets women.”

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
"Why do we need feminism?"
"Because there are still people telling women that their only role in life is to get married and have kids.”
"What's wrong with that?"
"Women should get to choose what they want to do in life. There is nothing wrong with getting married and having kids if that's what you want. There is something wrong with being forced into doing those things. Forcing people to do something is oppression."
