Slang term for Cocaine. First used in the movie Scarface, although the word used in the movie is spelled llallo, but is pronounced the same way. Popularized by the 1998 song "Hope I Don't Go Back" from the album "The Element of Surprise" by E-40. This song got a lot of radio play in 1998 and 1999 and popularized this slang term for Cocaine that had previously been used by only a few. The word has also spawned other forms; such as yay, which also means Cocaine and is used in the 1996 song "The Gangsta, The Killa and the Dope Dealer" by "Westside Connection" on the album "Bow Down".
From E-40's song, "I hope I don't go back to slangin' yayo, slangin' yayo, to get my mail." (sounds like mayo not mail, but they are saying mail) meaning money.

Mack 10 from "The Gangsta, The Killa and the Dope Dealer."; "Now what can I say every bitch I lay be pure and Bombay like Peruvian yay, so I brag and I boast man, I got the most man, I make more deleveries than the postman."

Yayo is referred to as crack or cocaine because of Santiago Luis Polanco Rodríguez who is former Dominican drug dealer considered to be the first mass marketer of crack cocaine in United States. His street name was Yayo.

Ya-yo is slang for drugs , more specific CRACK. It is a street term. The only effidence I could find to support this was it used in a song written by Ice-cube called Once Upon a Time in the Projects. check out some of the lyrics. The nigga said "yo, what's for sale"
and the bitch came out with a bag of ya-yo
She made the drop and got the 20 dollars
from a smoked out fool with ring around the collar
The girl I was waiting for came out
the bitch came out with a bag of ya-yo
She made the drop and got the 20 dollars

Name given to your grandfather in an affectionate way. It is mostly used in Spain.
For the grandmother the name is "Yaya". This would be similar to call them grandpa / granny in English.
Me: Iremos a comer a casa de los yayos?
Mom: Sí, pero después no te quejes de que te hacen comer mucha comida.

Me: Will we go to have lunch at grandpa's?
Mom: Yeah, but don't complain if they make you eat a lot of food.
