Unpology

"The facade of an apology created by uttering obligatory words of remorse devoid of actual regret, contrition, or even an admission of guilt."

("When saying you're sorry is unavoidable, the unpology is a Republican's best friend!")

(Found via a place online called: "perrspectives")
Actual example of an unpology from today, (9/1/2007): "I apologize... I have little control over what people choose to believe." (...about my pleading guilty to lewd behavior in the men's room at the airport.) -- Senator Larry Craig, (R)Idaho

unapology

a public statement from someone who is clearly guilty that kinda sounds like an apology, but if you look at the content, it's not an apology at all, and often includes direct or indirect denial of guilt and/or a contrary explanation of what really happened.
Politician's unapology after a corruption conviction, "I don't believe in my heart that I did anything wrong, but for the disgrace that my inadvertent actions have brought on this office, I am deeply sorry."

unpology

A passive statement which accepts that some hurt happened, and which laments that pain was caused, but which fails to acknowledge any responsibility on the part of the speaker for what took place.
The following extract is from an unpology issued by the Vatican in response to the 2009 Murphy Report on sexual abuse in the Dublin archdiocese: "After careful study of the Report, the Holy Father was deeply disturbed and distressed by its contents. He wishes once more to express his profound regret at the actions of some members of the clergy who have betrayed their solemn promises ... The Holy Father shares the outrage, betrayal and shame felt by so many of the faithful in Ireland ... The Holy See takes very seriously the central issues raised by the Report, including questions concerning the governance of local Church leaders with ultimate responsibility for the pastoral care of children ..."

Unapologise

When someone apologises and the receiver thinks it was invalid , so they tell you to unapologise. For example ...

Will- Sorry, im back

Jade- You don't need to apologise

Will- Okay, I unapologise

Unpology

An expression of (what appears to be) regret and apology, but is actually in substance nothing of the kind.
This is an example of an unpology:
I am so sorry that that you feel that my actions hurt you in any way.

The apology here is actually a proxied apology, made in the name of the person supposedly being apologized to, i.e., apologizing for the person for the way they acted, not for any act that the person issuing the unpology did.

Unapologenic

When your impertinent bitchiness indolently seeps into pictures of yourself.
She's got that determined glint in her eye there, but really she's just very unapologenically blessed and the camera shows it.
