AP Studio Art Drawing

A high school course from hell that hosts students who say "hey, I'm good at art, why not?", and immediately turns them into a pretentious art hoes who at the same time hate art. They didn't know what they signed up for, or else they wouldn'tve done it in the first place! Eight months, 24 pieces of art --12 breadth and 12 concentrations--, countless people saying that their art is terrible and that they should just give up, 0 souls remain. Catch 'em in the halls with a bigass portfolio, wearing mustard yellow, permanent bags under their eyes and milk and honey in hand.

Students include:

1) the "re-starter" who starts their concentration over 10 times, and only has their first piece done in March. They're "fiiiiiiiiine".

2) the "truly 2D": wisely chooses to do photography, digital art, or anything that isn't drawing. See how they finish everything a week or two early and actually stay on the in-class deadlines while everyone else is suffering.
3) the "procrastinator": hasn't brought their work home in days... maybe weeks. 3 all-nighters, 4 gallons of coffee and 5 mental breakdowns during submission week before they just make the deadline with 10 minutes to spare.
4) the "one who can't handle": Just thinks about stress and how it's going to make them stressed is already stressing them along with every person who has to hear them stress about stressing. Cries 3x a day.
5) the "one who tried to switch out... several times": why are they taking AP art? They don't even know.
Student 1: "Yo how's your concentration going AP Studio Art Drawing?"
Student 2: "Not bad, I've got 5/12"
Student 1: "...But submission is in 3 days..."
Student 2: "Yup! and so is my funeral."

gacha studio

Gacha studio is a game created by a company called lunime where children make anime characters and use those anime characters to make stories in studio mode. The most common (and cliché) stories include the hated child, the hated child who became a princess, the hybrid hated child and last but not least my bully loves me.
Kid: Im gonna make a story on gacha studio
Me: What's it gonna be called?
Kid: The hybrid hated child who became a savage ice princess!

Studio Ghibli

STUDIO GHIBLI: INTRODUCTION

The greatest mainstream animation studio of our generation, headed by the greatest animator of our time, Hayao Miyazaki.

Has consistently produced works that all uphold the studio's foundation of creative artistry and story-telling.
Unfortunately, it is shadowed by the American powerhouses Pixar/Disney, who have mastered the art of creating family-friendly films and entertainment, but nonetheless lack an emotional/narrative appeal.
________________________________________________
FOCUS ON ART/NARRATIVE, NOT MASS-APPEAL

Studio Ghibli is dedicated purely to the arts and narrative behind each story. It is known for its sentimental appeal and beautiful traditional animation, not focusing on entertainment.

WHERE HAS THE MAGIC GONE....

Studio Ghibli can only be summed up as the place where the only real bit of magic has moved, after the downfall of the "magic" of Disney into the 2000's.

The magic of a pencil, not a computer, the beauty of a well-crafted story, and the sacredness of art above mass-appeal, this is what Studio Ghibli believes in.

Studio Ghibli is magic.
Pixar:

beautiful computer animation
family-centered
mass appeal
masterful money generator/Oscar nabber

lack of meaningful themes or remembrance of film

Disney:

owns Pixar now
famed for beautiful animation, but since long gone

Studio Ghibli:

-dedicated to art, not entertainment
-known for themes like individualism, environmentalism, feminism, friendship, etc., rather than exclusively love
-known for powerful narrative/story-telling, not entertainment

Lumina Studio Theater

A kick-ass acting group in the United States. Not the car. We do Shakespeare, Dickens and random shit made up by our director. We usually (but not always) twist the setting or characters somehow. Lumina is not to be treated casually. We take it seriously. It is not an after-school activity. And not a cult, at all...
"I have a Lumina Studio Theater rehearsal from 12:30 to 3:00 on Saturday."

"Really? That short?"

Or

"What do you do do for fun?"
"I do Lumina."
Or
"Can't you just skip a Lumina rehearsal once?"
"Hahahahahahaha."
v.tr. Derived from the word "studying," it is focusing attention on someone or something.
"Randolph, ain't nobody studdin' you, so go on back to sleep with your grumpy ass."
