(n) An internet prank where the victim clicks on a misleading link that directs them to the video clip for the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.
The meme originated on 4chan. The prank was originally called "Duckrolling" and had the exact same type of luring technique, but instead lead to an edited picture of a duck on wheels. The first instance of "Rickrolling" occurred in May 2007 on 4chan's /v/ board, where a link claiming to be the first major trailer for "Grand Theft Auto IV" instead led to the "Never Gonna Give You Up" video clip. The prank's popularity began to soar and eventually became one of the greatest internet memes.
"That man is notorious for his "RickRoll" videos."

Rick Rolling is commonly thought of as linking a friend, who thinks they are getting something desirable, to a video of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", though this is not always the case. A Rick Roll may be amplified by having the window fly around your screen and, upon closure, release a stream of popups (usually displaying the lyrics) that will open as you close the previous, as seen at raygoldmodels.com. These can be humorous to witness over the shoulder, as well as to have an email response to.
Man, after I Rick Rolled my friend, he was super duper pissed off at me.

I like to close the popups as their respective lyrics end whenever I get Rick Rolled.

The most annoying meme on the internet. It hasn't been funny for a very long time now, so stop.
Well, look at that. Someone still thinks that Rick Rolling is funny.

When Rick Astley's song "Never Gonna Give You Up" is played at an unexpected time.
The kid was in a stadium when all of a sudden "Never Gonna Give You Up" was played to the audience. He was rickrolled.
To expose one to excess amounts of Rick Astley. More specifically, his song "Never Gonna Give You Up."
Dude: Dude, check out this amazing video.
*Dude's friend clicks on link*
Dude's Bud: You asshole.

A Link, usually misleading, that sends the clicker to a video, most often on Youtube, of the Song "Never gonna give you up". This is used as a prank and is very annoying.
Man Someone was telling me about this really cool video, but when i clicked the link I was hit with a Rick Roll.
