A hawaiian word meaning "to go and roam about" which has
taken on attributes according to the culture in which it is used. Typically, to go and "
cruise", or "wander about", but in a drug culture, e.g. "
ice" or "batu", it is to take another trip.
"Eh, you like go holoholo?" Do you want to go cruise? For a patient leaving the '
ICE' ward after a bout of congestive heart
failure, when asked, "what do you most want to do now they you are being released?", the reply of the addict: "I jus' like go holoholo again." An old prewar (wwII) song, "Holoholo ka'a" means "to go for a
ride in a car" i.e. go sightseeing, cruising, in the brand new thing, the automobile.
