escalefter 

A person who stands on the left side of the escalator instead of the right. This prevents people from descending or ascending the escalator if they don't want to stand on their way up/down.

Oh man I hate it when there is an escalefter in front of me when I'm getting off the subway and running late for work.

|ˈeskəˌloidər| verb. To stand in the middle of an escalator when people are trying to pass, or to suddenly stop at the top or bottom of the escalator, forcing people to bump into you.

That jerk escaloitered all the way up the escalator and made me miss my train.

Escalefting 

To stand on the left side of the escalator and not walk, as is proper Washington, DC Metro protocol; to not follow the "stand left, walk right" rule. A mistake commonly made by tourists or clueless (and occasionally rude) locals.
