Another example would be the half-fictional half-autobiographic character in Soren Kierkegaard's Diary Of A Seducer. Yet another example can be found in the works of Marquis de Sade.

A hangover so serious, that it literally feels like death. In most cases, lasts nearly all day and night. Complete with a smashing headache, consistent vomitting and sometimes diarrhea. A sodium iv is the only thing that will make you feel better, other than that you just have to lie in bed and feel like you're dying til it eventually passes. Which is usually around 7-24 hours
