A chawner is an obese, long-term welfare recipient. May mistakenly believe current state of affairs is not of their own making and have associated issues with personal hygiene. Likely to have large (state funded) DVD collection and enjoy TV wrestling.

A very fat, unattractive person, male or female, usually stupid with it. In the front ranks of the obesity epidemic.
On the flight down here I was practically squashed out of my seat by the chawner next to me overflowing into my space.
