The Instagram of a basic teenage girl; usually white and middle class. Their posts consists of “missing summer” bikini shots, her making an ackward pose with a pumpkin, her at that one football game to show she has “spirit”, a vacation pic, a pic from the city she’s in the nearest vicinity of, pics from a party where her and her “bffs” are wearing different versions of the same Urban Outfitters bralette and of course, the occasional selfie. Defined by their overused captions and highly edited pictures, the basicgrams will do anything for likes. Frases like LMP! Or LMR! are used to attract users to their newest update on their basic journey. Most basicgram accounts have over a thousand followers yet they’re still private to keep out “stalkers”. Their pictures need to get at least 200 likes, 30 comments and follow a highly-specific aesthetic. A lot of these basicgrams stick to this aesthetic so much they will *gasp* not post a picture if it doesn’t fit. Basicgrams usually post with the same five people yet tag twenty. However, they will brake this if they meet someone famous or talk to someone more popular. Also, they will take 1000 shots of the almost-same photo just so they look perfect and call it “candid”. Remember, anything for the likessss!
Person 1: “OMIGOD did you see Tina’s new insta posts she looks so pretty and it almost has 300 likes!”
Person 2: “yeah, her account is turning more into a basicgram eveytime she posts”
