altoholic

When used in reference to MMORPG's (Massive Multi-Player Online Role Playing Games), such as World of Warcraft or Everquest, refers to a person who creates many different characters, rather than just one or two. May also be used to refer to a player who creates characters on many different servers of the same game, where the experiences they see will often be different from each other.

Use of the word is intended to be comical in nature, a play on the word "alcoholic" and will often garner laughter from others if used correctly.

Often only used online, and usually only on chat forums.

"I have over twenty characters spread out over five servers! I'm such an altoholic!"

alcoholics eponymous

A group for people who have the same name as an alcoholic beverage.
Jack: Hi, my name's Jack - Jack Daniels and I've had this name all my life.

All: Hi Jack. Welcome to alcoholics eponymous.

Altoholism

A condition that affects MMORPG gamers in which they re-roll new characters whenever they reach the 40 to 50 level range. This is usually due to the player not finding the endgame enjoyable and the player having the urge to continue to play the game as opposed to growing bored of it due to a high level character.
I'm simply in no hurry to bring my character to a point where I no longer really enjoy it. Due to Altoholism I roll new characters every time I get into that mid forties/fifties range.

Alcoholics Anonymous

A fellowship of... see definition for aa

A world-wide program of attraction, rather than promotion which suggests as 12-step program of recovery. There are no "rules", in the proper sense, and the only requirement to become an AA is the desire to stop drinking.

In recent years, the school of thought which believes that drug abuse has a place in AA has bolstered significantly, and many people with cross-addiction get sober through AA.

It's simple, but not easy. You can't be too stupid for it, but you can be too smart.

It's not for the jelly beans
Members of Alcoholics Anonymous are reminded to always place principles before personalities. Members may be the most of the Big Book that outsiders ever see.

If you wish to drink, that's your own affair. If you want to stop drinking, Alcoholics Anonymous can help.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a good place to go if you want to stop drinking. If you are an alcoholic, its a good idea not to drink.

altaholic

Someone who can not focus on just one character in an online game, usually known as their main. These people have many "alt"ernate characters.
"Ravenya is an Altaholic, because he has more toons then his age."
"If MacAllister and Unstable make one more Alt, we are going to have them put in Altaholics Anonymouse."

Alcoholics Anonymous

A cult that people use to get sober. Though stating it is not a religion every meeting has readings, an offering basket, and talks a lot about God. For a lot of people AA becomes the new addiction. The majority of people are full of shit and show up drunk to the meetings and claim they have been sober for 20 years even though they smell like a bottle of cheap vodka.
Instead of just not drinking a lot of suckers think only God can do it for them via Alcoholics Anonymous when in reality all you have to do is not pick up the fucking bottle. The founder Bill W was a massive drug user, sex addict, and was probably drunk more than half the time at AA meetings.
