A place of ancient Celtic culture that was flourishing long before the English even existed. Much of the culture is long lost but there is wealth of mystery, richness, beauty and fame connected to Wales that most people have no idea about.
To look beyond the sheep jokes, daffodils and rugby and it is important to recognise it was one of the first literary cultures on Earth. Celtic way of life was overflowing with poetry and great legends some little known and some world famous and more often than not, very wrongly, attributed these days to England.
They lived, on the whole peacefully, believing in nature, song, literature, dance... basically life just being fun. It was actually one of the first nations where women were treated in many ways equally to men! They even lived at peace with the Romans after the Roman invasion into Britain developing a sophisticated, ahead of its time nation!
Unfortunately the English (at that point Normans, Germans, French) i.e. the Anglo Saxons came to Britain and ruined most of it.

Wales has so much to be remembered for, namely some of the greatest legends, such as that of King Arthur and his round table which yes, was Celtic (WELSH) legend - though it is thought much of the legends are based on true figures. Though nowadays people tend to think King Arthur was English when what he did was in fact fight the Anglo-Saxons, he was in fact half-Celtic, half Roman.
Wales has many other great stories, A welsh Indian tribe existed in America long before Columbus ever arrived, thus proving that the Welsh were in fact the first to sail to America. In fact on the American declaration of independance 13 of the 17 signatures are signed by Welsh men, and America was very nearly going to be a Welsh speaking country!
A land with stories of great people, Owain Glynd, Aneurin Bevan, Richard Burton, Dylan Thomas, David lloyd George, JPR Williams!, Roald Dahl... the list is endless...Many great singers, actors, artists and writers have come from the small country of Wales (can't forget Tom Jones, Tina Turner, Anthony Hopkins for modern legends, even Kylie who is half Welsh!)
Not to forget it is a country of great beauty, much of the countryside breathtaking but unseen by many.
It is a nation, of what i have seen, (and that is much!), of polite, kind, talented people. This is of course a generalisation but i do not know how Cardiff can be accused of being violent fans when England are world-renowned for the behaviour of their football fans!!
There is a national Eisteddfod each year bringing together talent from all over Wales, yet the contest is not publicised or known to many outside Wales... a great shame.
I could go on and on, Wales is far too over stereotyped and it is by people that have no idea about the truth at the core of this remarkable country.
WALES rules so do not knock it until you have been there (preferably further than the South East) and KNOW about its history!

pronounced Wahl-ay,

--Wale has no set definition, because it can mean everything and anything. It is whatever you want it to be. It is often associated with African-Americans also. Spelling varies, some even like to include an accent on the e like such, walé.
Wale to that wale.
Wow your hair is wale today.
Look at those wales jump.

A country that contains too much anti English, racist sentiment. especially when the English don't care but for laughing at the accent (which we also do to every other country on Earth)
Welshman: "Fucking English wanker!"
Englishman: "Do I look offended? Try evolving for a few millennia. And try not to slag me off outside of Wales, that's how come Welsh exiles get the shit kicked out of them."

Wales. A small chunk of land unfortunately still attached to England. Populated by inbred, narrow-minded mutants who are obsessed with Rugby. They have been closed off from the rest of civilisation since the big bang, and therefore sadly, will always be the mad, isolated, eccentric dimwits that they are. They are blessed with one of the most annoyingly cringeworthy accents in the world which makes them sound like 6yr olds on helium. If visiting take plenty of water-proof clothing as you will be drenched in saliva whenever they open their silly little mouths. Their culture is suffocating and will be forced in your face at every turn. Anti-English to the highest degree. Wales a place of dribbling psychopaths where everyone looks the same, talks the same and acts the same. Clones with a capital C. Stay well clear!
Blodwyn: Hey Daffyd boyo! Look at that English twat over there, I'll knock his teeth out, you can poke him in the eyes.

Daffyd: Ok, just a noraml weekend then.

Wales, lovely scenery spoilt by stifling culture and threatened inbreds petrified of losing their identity.

A rugged, mountainous landmass joined to western england with high levels of rainfall all year round. Summer is very short and temperatures rarely reach over 66 degrees F. Winters are harsh and many welsh people exhibit vulgar lesions and cracked skin during this season. It is the time when welsh women are most ready to mate.

Over centuries of industrialisation, and and a lack of ambition/education for its inhabitants; Wales has become a sort of no go area for investment and development. Once famous for coal mining, slate, granite etc practically all of those industries no longer exist, only remains of excavation and mining give a clue to its industrial past... oh and the huge holes dug into the landscape, fetid and rotten, the rust of a thousand moons etc.

The general populace are often very simple in their behavioural and thought patterns and an attitude of intolerance, bitterness and violence are the most common character traits of the typical "welshman". The welsh are particularly bitter toward the english and envy any form of affluence or snobbery. Indeed wages in Wales are much lower than most other parts of great britain and the number of unskilled workers or those claiming some form of benefit are also higher than other parts of britain on average.

In summary, do not visit the towns/cities. In particular cardiff, newport, swansea, llanelli.

The only place really of any interest to those with a liking of scenery and tranquility is west wales, where few council estates exist and the population is mostly well off english retiree's.

Wales in summary; a graveyard of ambition, where people's daily routine consists of earning minimum wage, then spending it on the weekend on cheap alcohol and distasteful female/woolen company. For the unemployes or over 40's days are spent in the local pub then on some low quality turkish food and then possibly beating someone up in the evening.
"I've heard Wales is a dreadful neanderthal infested pit, roasted for a thousand years in rotting pig vomit and then baked in the deserts of egypt for a million millenia then submerged under terrential rain for the remainder of eternity..."

"Yes, your quite right it is."

Right where to start with these wierd talking homosexuals?

Well there french from the start, so we all hate them :), they put wellingtons on the sheeps so they can run away (Yes what i mean is they bum anything), Plus from little britain there is no only gay in the village, there all homo's, so i advise you never go there unless youve packed your shotgun or a sane person.
