The best state in the Union.The land of diners,greenheads,and Soccer.Those who make fun of it are either jealous or have never been here and would prefer to live in whatever cornball state they're currently in.
-For the last time,NO ONE SAYS "JOISEY"!!OK?Not even people in north Jersey.Most of us have a Philadelphian sounding dialect.

-Many of us love Soccer,and Jerseyans are the best Soccer players in the US.(Tim Howard,Claudio Reyna.Both play in England)
-Knock it off with the stupid toxic waste and turnpike jokes,they're both unfunny and incorrect.If you REALLY want to make a Jerseyan laugh ask us what our longest time staying in a diner was or something like that.
-"Jersey girls" do not look like cheap whores with 80's-looking hair.They are usually gorgeous Italian girls,however they sometimes smoke too much and should cut that out.
-NJ smells like leaves and trees,thats about it.
-Ok,there's some shitholes here,i'll admit.(like with any place).But most of the state is beautiful and it's a great place to live.
-Douchebags like Jay Leno need to stop with the corny NJ jokes before I make some South Jersey chick beat his ass.
-One of the few places you'll find people who are of half-Irish and half-Italian descent.

The best state in the nation, where everything is within walking distance, people are friendly and know how to drive, whilst tourists claim that we drive like "maniacs" because they just don't know any better. Home of several national parks and one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, and one of the most respected ivy league schools as well. Many criticize New Jersey because we love our state so much, and they're jealous that ours is one of the most educated and prosperous in the nation. New Jersey is a wonderful place to live with many attractions that are overlooked and the state as a whole is completely underestimated.

The human history of New Jersey began millennia ago with the settlement of the area by Native Americans. New Jersey's delegates signed the Articles of Confederation in 1779 and Princeton acted as the nation's capital for four months in 1783. In 1787, New Jersey became the third state to ratify the United States Constitution. In the 19th century, New Jersey cities led the nation into the Industrial Revolution and provided soldiers for many of the wars the United States fought, including 88,000 soldiers for the American Civil War. The state became a component of the Underground Railroad. The state's transportation system continued to improve with the construction of canals and more rail lines that helped industrialization further develop.

Stereotypes: We all live by malls, factories are everywhere, we apparently have an accent that we've never heard of before, we all are Italian and gel our hair, we are just a giant suburb of NY and Philly, we all smoke alot and we must come from Newark or Atlantic City because those are the only two NJ cities you know.
The Truth: I can't speak for all of NJ but I do live within 45 minutes of 3 malls, but what's so bad about that? Factories are only in Northeast Jersey that is real close to NYC, and they manufacture half the shit you buy, we have to put them somewhere. No one ever says "Joisey", we say Jurzee and the accent you think we have is more like a crushing combonation of Staten Island and Boston. Jersey Accents are more subtle and most people talk like they're from Philly or NY. We aren't all Italian, infact only 17% of NJ is Itailian but yeah I am Italian but there's nothing wrong with that, and no we don't all gel our hair or wear Gucci sunglasses. We are like a giant suburb of NY/Philly but with attitude, our own cities and towns, and a beach.
