Abbreviation for "Non-Metallic
Metal"
A style and technique of painting that involves avoiding paints with shiny metallic pigments in them and using
flat matte paints to blend,
shade, and provide sharp highlights to represent a metallic object's shine and luster on a reflective colored surface. Can be used for canvas painting as was the
case for hundreds to thousands of years through various mediums like oil painting, but usually meant in the context for painting miniatures where using acrylic paints with metallic colors are common.
As I am aiming to show off my skills in this painting competition, I decided to
paint this
sword and
steel armor in NMM style so I could glaze various green tones in certain directions to go with the lighting and background of the diorama I am setting.
