A really, REALLY smart guy who knows how to get his message out. And when teenagers stopped listening to him because they thought he wasn't "intense" enough, Manson overcommercialized himself! Although this gave him a bad name in many people's eyes, true fans of his music know what he's trying to do, and take the time to understand and respect that. And his concerts are really good and creative!
If you don't like Marilyn Manson for his music that's fine, but if you refuse to take the time to understand it and judge him right off the back that's not.

A human being. Let's face it folks, yeah, some of us like his music, yeah some of us hate it. Some of us support what he stands for, some of us are against it. This doesn't make him some antichrist, devil reincarnate! Nor does it make him the god of today! I personally enjoy his music and i support many of his views, this doesn't mean i like him as a person. I DON'T EVEN KNOW THE GUY! So all you out there saying "Oh, yeah, he's like my god and i'm going to marry him and we'd totally get along" and all that crap need to remember that you don't know him and can't judge him like that until you actually do get to know him (which i doubt is going to happen).
Also, he's stated that his music is meant to make everyone feel accepted. Most people see this as a Goths only sort of thing. NOT TRUE. it is possible for someone to shop at Abercrombie and Fitch and like Marilyn Manson. Someone can go to church every Sunday and still enjoy his music. It seems like manson fans are creating these boxes to detirmine what a "true marilyn manson fan" is, and it's totally undermining his purpose of being. If his music is supposed to accept everyone and unite all then how is it right for us, his "loyal" fans, to define who is and who isn't allowed to like him.

An under-rated genius who is misunderstood because of his album "Antichrist Superstar", in which every right-wing catholic ass who has a stick up their butt protested. I don't EVER think he has said that there is no god. He was a catholic growing up, until one of his teachers told him to "Go home for being blasphemis", in which he said "Fuck you and YOUR version God." -Possibly the greatest lyricist ever
-Mind blowingly inteligent, puts any interviewer who trys to have a go to shame
-Controversial, yet he will always have a reason for doing whatever he did, and will be able to justify anything he does or condones.
-Exellent painter who is internationally recognized and has had exhibitions all over the world
-Could be an incredibly accurate political and social analysist, judging by his songs and interviews, this is probably due to his journalistic work.
-Style icon fore scene/emo and even british indie kids

Even people who dont like marilyn manson should watch his interviews on youtube, at least to find out how incredibly intelligent he is, and how valid his opinions are on almost any topic. Even though i am only 15, and am what some would call "scene" please dont disregard this. It is completely accurate.

Somehow his fans constantly feel like they have to stand up for him and say "He is an artist" and a "lyrical genius" and that he is criticized because his view is not mainstream.
If his view is not mainstream, how come he has millions of fans, which hang on his every word? If you do not believe this, please take a look at the other definitions.
And if he is criticized because his view is not mainstream, why are his videos constantly on MTV? Sure, it's "not his choice" but he has done various interviews as well. He's even presented an award at the MTV awards with...Avril Lavigne, whom he said he enjoys the music of.
His live shows are not very edgy either; he's burnt a bible and some flags. That was Monday morning at the house of GG Allin. Marilyn Manson is a Sunday school teacher compared to GG Allin. And Manson is a bad image to Satanists, because he has admitted he is not truly Satanic and has various Christian morals.
The man has made some decent songs, but has also managed to ruin various songs with his pathetic covers. Sweet Dreams, Tainted Love, Personal Jesus, the agony.

Recently been watered down to just another HotTopic kid favourite. Just like Evanescence, Slipknot and Greenday. Regardless, some of his songs are still pretty good.

A sick fuck, who happens to be popular among the bullied pre-teens/teens and therefore has the money to continue his inadequate showmanship. Sadly enough, some take him for real.
Marilyn Manson is either too coked up or drunk to perform adequately - gasping for breath and letting the crowd of 14-year-olds sing while you proclaim yourself 3v1l is NOT being a showman.
