Mahoff

The term used by Philadelphians for anyone in a position of power, authority or prominence. Usually said as a phrase, "big mahoff."

She's a big mahoff, so we have to do it her way.

Person of considerable authority. Frequently used to describe upper management in a corporation (the big mahoffs).

The big mahoff is coming in today, so we'd better get this place in order.
