A First person shooter game where you and 3 other people can play as survivors or infected

There's no difference in their abilities of the humans.

Hunter-An infected that can jump really high
Smoker-An infected with a really long tongue who'll try to choke you to death.
Boomer-A fat infected that explodes when killed
Tank-A muscular infected that can toss things at you.
Witch-The strongest infected. I don't advice you to fight her, unless you got no choice.

You start in a safe house with weapons, health packs and ammo, take all you need.

As you leave the safe house, you'll be fighting zombies.

To make it more difficult, they run very quickly and are in a large number.

In each level, there will be a horde coming at you. The horde is a load of zombies running at you. So teamwork is very important. So work together or you'll all get killed.
*horde coming*

Players: Shit.

Left 4 Dead is a game developed by Valve and projected on Steam. The main purpose of the game was to create friendships and cooperation . . . until the game came out.

Then the objective was to destroy the planet based on the pillars of the L4D friendship: shouting, rage-quitting, team kills, stealing all the equipment, abuse of mic, and griefing.

Left 4 Dead's first pillar of Shouting is mainly aimed at screaming and yelling at people you don't even know to eventually make them detest you. This is caused by being thrown up on by a boomer, pounced by a hunter, smoked by a smoker, awakening the witch, or being a noob and running towards the tank. It is expressed either by yelling the enemies name and the direction you are in of the closest person, without specifying that person.

E.g. 1: "Hunter! Hunter! Hunter! Hunter! Hunterhunterhunterhunterhunter! The the southwest direction of you!"

E.g. 2: "Tank tank tank tank tank tank tank tank tank! RUUUN! Noooooooooooo! F***ing noobcake! Freakin' weaksauce!"

Kicking usually becomes the result of example 2. Example 1 though is usually death.

Rage-quitting is the most effective pillar of L4D friendships. Usually done by a single person out of rage, a person rage quits for being a sore loser. Rage-quitting symptoms are expressed in the form of removing yourself in the server/game after a great loss. It is impossible to rage-quit in survival mode or campaign mode. The anger evoked in the remaining players can only be summed up by quoting a famous zombie: "GRAGAGAGARAGARGARARAGARAHHAHGATAGARAGFAGAHGARAAGGARAGAHAHAGTAGHAH!!!!"

There is a cure to destroying the rage-quit. Somehow play versus alone, which is impossible.

Team kills are usually the least of the most popular L4D friendship pillars. They involve attacking a team-mate. Usually performed by noobs and people with the auto-shotty on expert, team kills create a great atmosphere of realism in L4D. It cannot be turned off or avoided, but the downfall is that some people actually take the time to aim in L4D instead of shooting at anything that moves. This can be noticed in the credits of the finale as "Most Accurate Player", otherwise known as "The guy who used everyone as shields and picked off every zombie he could with the sniper".

Stealing all the equipment is the most annoying form of the L4D friendship pillar. It involves having the fastest PC or Xbox, and immediately after spawn, using up all the pills/medpacks to make sure no one else has one. To avoid this, don't be cheap and get a better computer. The best way of use is to use all your might to get past everything and eventually to the finale to eventually use everything and to throw and blow up all the pipe bombs and molotovs. It is very possible, but highly unlikely you will be rescued if you are down. Be prepared for rape from Hunter if done.

Abuse of mic is the most misunderstood pillar of L4D. It involves putting up blaringful music on the microphone during gameplay or pretending to be a 6 year old kid.

Which brings me to the last pillar, griefing is the use of two or all of the pillars together to create havoc. Another part of griefing not mentioned is to not only pretend to be a 6 year old kid, but to actually be one will destroy many friendships and you will most likely grow up as some new age emo kid. Griefing also involves suicide. Especially when you are the only one left and almost done with the level.

The pillars of L4D are what defines L4D itself. Without the pillars of friendship, L4D would be a very boring game with a bunch of useless people in it.

You and 3 other people fight off a zombie horde and try to make your way to safety. The zombies are like speedy Gonzales, but faster, so you'll probably die, very quick. You have to survive different places such as a hospital, farm, apartment building, subway, street and a airfield. yeah, left 4 dead has you kill zombies in a airfield. badass. Something also worth mentioning Is that Left 4 Dead has some tricky ninja-like bastard called the "A.I. Director" who watches your every move and decides whether and when you should die. You cannot kill the A.I. director, he's like a god or something. The A.I. Director spawns the zombies based on where you are, It's never the same. So If your getting a drink, or something, that prick will kill you off for shits and giggles. There Is also boss infected In the game, Such as The boomer, He's a fatass and likes to vomit on people. He also explodes, watch out for that. The Tank, imagine a army tank that grew arms and legs and tried to kill you and stuff... actually, that's pretty awesome when you think about It. The witch, She's a bitch. The hunter, He chills like a cool dude then leaps nine-thousand feet into the airs and land on you and after that follows a bunch of scratching or something that apparently Is very deadly as a billion gallons of blood splatters everywhere. The smoker, he has a quadtrillionbillionzilliongogzillfillion foot long tongue that grabs you. If you kill him he turns into a bunch of smoke... I'm done typing.

An EXTREMELY addicting horror/survival first-person shooting game for PC and Xbox 360.

The story revolves around a bikie outcast, a young girl, a war veteran, and an I.T programmer (known as the survivors, Louis, Bill, Francis, and Zoey) trying to get to safety, while being chased by a horde of zombies faster than Usain Bolt.
Zoey: shh, there's a witch. Lights off and be quiet...

Left 4 Dead, a game developed by Valve, makers of Half-Life. You play as one of four survivors, Bill, the old guy nobody likes, Francis, the biker guy who hates everything but vests, Louis, the regular black guy, and Zoey, the college student. All have just faced the zombie apocalypse, and must work together to survive. It's alot like the movie I Am Legend. Only lamer and not nearly as scary.

In L4D, teamwork is a MUST. There are ordinary, common zombies, which are everywhere, are easy to kill. However, the special infected are not so. Three out of the five zombies require at least one (or all, in the case of the Tank) survivor to kill it, not including the survivor being attacked by it.

The special infected seen the most is the Hunter, Boomer, and Smoker. The Hunter is a sweatshirt wearing zombie, who pounces his victims. If you get pounced by him, you're dead unless someone can knock him off or kills him. The Smoker is a zombie with a really long tongue. It, uh... wraps it's tongue around you and drags you, and if you're on a building, and no one saves you in time, you'll fall off and die. If you don't fall off on any buildings, it'll just strangle you to death. The most annoying zombie is the Boomer, the fat lard. This zombie barfs bile on you. If you manage to kill it before that, you still have the risk of the explosion it creates throwing gunk on you. In either case, you'll be blinded momentarily, while being attacked by a hundred zombies that for some reason are attracted to that stuff.

The worst, and not often seen special infected, the Tank and Witch, are terrible. The Tank is very hard to kill, with it's huge, bulging muscles and tiny legs. The best way to kill it is to have all four survivors shooting at it at once. If they can do that without dying, it usually dies very quickly, even on Expert level. The Witch is simply a sad, crying girl on the floor... in her under garments... Getting too close to her makes he angry. The best way to deal with a witch is to avoid her altogether if possible, but if not, I suggest that the person with the lowest health should walk up to her and try to head-shot her. If the person fails, they instantly die from the witch. Then she'll run around screaming her head off until she's either killed or just disappears.

The main goal of the survivors is to, well, survive, as they make their way to each of the four safe-houses, which eventually lead to the Rescue. The Rescue involves sitting around for, say, two or three minutes, (the radio you call for help says they'll be there in ten, so...) whilst you shoot fifty zombies every wave, with one or two breaks in between so you may fight a Tank.

Left 4 Dead is a bit different from other games for two reasons. The first reason is the fact that it's not a single campaign, it's divided into four separate mini campaigns. They're divided into five parts, the four Safe-Houses, and the Finale (Rescue). The reason for the Safe-Houses is because they're what you start at if your entire team dies (even if only one person is still alive, they can continue, until they rescue teammates from the closets they respawn in).

The other factor is the A.I. Director. The Director is what tells the game where the zombies will spawn, as they never appear in the same place each time you play. You can go from one Safe-House to another, and not see any Tanks, but if you played that same level again, you might find one or two. This was added so that each time a level was played, it would be different the next time you played that level.

Left 4 Dead also has two other game types. The first one, that came when the game was released, is Versus Mode. In this there are two teams, Survivors, and Infected. The Infected you play as are the Hunter, Boomer, Smoker, and, sometimes, the Tank. You'll either start as the people or zombies, and once at least one Survivor gets to the Safe-House, or the Infected kill them all, you start as the other team the next round. Once two rounds are over on the same part (or map), it moves on to the next one.

The other game type is Surviver Mode (added April 2009, as an update). In this, you're goal is to survive, duh. You start in any map you choose, and after getting ready and alerting the Hoard (name for the massive groups of zombies), wave after wave of zombies come to attack you, without stopping, though the number decreases when a Tank appears (which are easier to kill than in campaign). You don't move along the campaign in this mode, you only stay in one spot.

I'd add some more, but I think that's really enough.
