Kennedy Catholics may not fully understand the theology that informs the religion's rituals, or may reject part or most of the theology. It is a term generally synonymous with Cafeteria Catholic

Mary Catherine: He seems nice but when we got onto the subject of our Catholic faith he said that it's more of tradition to him that an actual faith. He's more of a Kennedy Catholic.
