Distraction Cake

Something pleasant which draws attention from a situation which could be awkward or embarrassing for those involved. Distraction cake originated in British teen dramedy "Skins" where Emily Fitch produced a delicious chocolate cake, seemingly from thin air, in order to remove attention from Naomi Campbell who was being heckled about her sexuality - presumably as an act to show her undying love.
Cook: I know the cure
Naomi: The cure for what?
Cook: It's my cock
Naomi: What the hell are you talking about?
*Awkward glances and laughter*
Emily: Hey look what I made! (Produces delicious distraction cake)

Distraction

A person of the opposite gender which is not a significant other, but has enough "beyond friendship" feelings and possibilities attached to him/her that this person creates a major loss of productive time whenever s/he is available for contact.
The distraction is online. I won't get any homework done anytime soon.

Dinner Distraction

When somebody distracts you with the idea of food being ready, just to get you off what you were focussing on.

Person 2: - Okay I'm coming. {Turns off computer}
Person 1: - Dinner is Ready!.
Person 2: - The dinner clearly isn't ready...

You haven't eithen put it on the plate...
Person 1: - I tricked you!

Example 2

Person 1: - Dinner is Ready!
Person 2: - I'm coming {Turns off computer}.
{Walks into Kitchen, with food still boiling and not on the plate}.
Person 2: - Why say food is ready when I can't take it into the front room yet, It's not eithen on the plate.
Person 1: - You can wait now then.
Person 2: - *sigh* fine... {Thinks Dinner Distraction}
