A very good American-style Animation, NOT ANIME, on TV right now. In my opinion, one of the best animated shows around. About a kid, named Aang, who can "bend" or control Air. Set in a world where control of the 4 elements Air, Water, Fire, and Earth is commonplace. A very good show, but sometimes its a little predictible, i would give it a 8/10.

A show on nickelodeon that most people think is shit. However it's a very entertaining show.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, is a cartoon show sequenced in episodes, created by Nickelodeon. Although it stars a group of kids saving the world, it's attracted many fans even though the plot of kids saving the world is extremely overdone.
The cartoon series is made by American cartoonists, despite the Japanese Anime touch.
The story is an epic adventure in which a group of humans with the ability to bend the individual substances of the Earth travel around the world in an effort to teach the Avatar how to manipulate them. These substances are Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. The Avatar is a spiritual being reincarnated repetitively from body to body. It exists to aid humans in their suffering and to bring tranquility to the Earth.
The Avatar in this story is a young 12-year old boy named Aang, who comes from the Air Temples of the Air Nomads. He runs away when he finds out that he's the Avatar and coincidentally escapes in time before Firelord Sozin (king of the Fire Nation) torches the temples with a comet in an effort to destroy Aang, who would supposedly end his attempts to conquer the Earth Kingdom.
When Aang runs away on his pet sky bison, he falls into the ocean due to a storm. Overpowered by the churning waves, he sinks below the water and the Avatar state (a condition in which the Avatar combines all his/her past experience with the experience of the other Avatars into one, becoming stronger than before) caused the water to freeze, preserving him in ice.

The story of a thousand some odd year old boy who after waking up from chronically frozen chamber, has to stop evil ambassadors and dictators from taking over china with the power of the four basic elements...and then some. The main character is aang, is a air bender in which the story looks up to. He is acompanied by few friends with their own ability (excepting sokka). This carton has received many creditability for its art and storyline it is called a wapanese anime because of its anime style rendering but with a American creator

Greatest show of all time to air on nick, and is not anime. Here's why.
1- avatar is not anime. Anime is anime, and it sucks donkey ass.
2- all the chicks in avatar are sexy and badass. All the chicks in anime are whiney and useless.
3- in avatar, outfits and hairdos make some kind of sense and the characters don't look like a bunch of douche-bags.
4- everyone wants to fuck katara, and no one wants to fuck a chicken-legged eleven year old cry-baby with pink hair (ie. every girl in anime)
5- avatar has a great plot, interesting characters, and humor interspersed with a whole lot of fucking awesome. anime has ready-made porn stars.
6-anime is fucking hilarious, but not on purpose.
7- watching anime is like watching fifty original series captain kirks interact with each other. Just calm the fuck down already!
