A pop-rock band from Sydney, Australia formed in 2011 and recently gained popularity in 2014 for their hit single "She Looks So Perfect"
Some may argue that the band is a "boy band" and those that say that are simply ignoring all the evidence that supports otherwise. Their self-titled album (producer - John Feldman) actually has some great pop-rock songs despite what others may say.
1. They have been on the covers of both Rock Sound and Alternative Press, as well as winning The Rolling Stones #1 Rock Song of 2014. People tend to ignore these facts when claiming that these Aussies are a boy band
2. To tell they aren't a boy band just look at their inspirations for music. Blink 182, Busted, All Time Low, Greenday, The Misfits, Marianas Trench, The Ramones, Good Charlotte and the Sex Pistols to name a few. They have also written songs with Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low), the members of Sum 41, Joel Madden (Good Charlotte), The members of Busted, Josh Ramsay (Marianas Trench), and it is rumored that they will be writing with Austin Carlile (Of Mice And Men) in the near future.
3. They have received lots of support for their music from all different kinds of bands including but not limited to Alex Gaskarth, Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), Billy Joe Armstrong (Greenday), Mark Hoppus (blink 182) Gerard Way (formerly My Chemical Romance), The Romantics, and Josh Ramsay

a BAND (not boyband cuz they play instruments) consisting of 4 australian 16-18 year olds. THEY ARE SEX GODS!!!! Their names are Luke Hemmings (vocals, guitar), Calum Hood (vocals, bass guitar), Michael Clifford (guitar, vocals), and Ashton Irwin (drums, guitar). They are as hot as frickin Tartarus, and their accents alone can just blow up your ovaries. Then their singing, oh my gods. Their singing is shamazing. Think of one of the best bands that all sing ever, then multiply that awesomeness by 1000. Yup, that good. they're commonly known as 5SOS.

They gained more popularity when going on tour with One Direction. They started Sounds Live Feels Live tour shortly after their album Sounds Good Feels Good was released.

A shitty boyband. They themselves aren't bad, but it is their unbearable fangirls who will deny to the grave that 5 seconds of summer is a boyband. The main argument is that they play their own instruments so that disqualifies them from boyband status, which of course is false. Also more annoying is the imaginary link that has been made with this boyband, and real punk rock bands. They and their fanbase like to wear classic punk rock t-shirts, although most of them have no fucking idea what they are wearing.

5SOS (5sauce) are an Australian pop rock/pop punk band. Founded in 2011, it consists of members Luke Hemmings, born July 16th, 1996 (lead vocals/guitar) Calum Hood, born January 25th, 1996 (vocals/bass guitar) Michael Clifford, born November 20th, 1995 (lead guitar/vocals) and Ashton Irwin, born July 7th, 1994 (drummer/vocals). Commenly called a boy band although not one under any form of dictionary. (According to the Oxford dictionary, a boy band is a /vocal focused/ pop group made up of late teen/early twenties attractive males appealing to a young female audience, 5SOS' appeal was strictly coincidental) They have released one studio album and one live album respectfully named '5 Seconds Of Summer' and 'LiveSOS'. Another studio album is set for release October 23rd, 2015 named 'Sounds Good Feels Good', already number 1 in over 50 countries on pre-orders alone. Their fanbase is a dedicated one called the 5SOS Fam, Fam being short for Family. The band has started a revolution in the music industry named The New Broken Scene, created to make everybody feel like they belong. The bands biggest inspirations are other bands such as Green Day, All Time Low, Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, Boys Like Girls, etc.

5 seconds of summer are an australian pop band who gained success at a young age because they posted mediocre videos of themselves on youtube and toured with one direction. they gained popularity at first because girls thought they were cute and could be a new boyband. they got world famous quickly because of the fans and attention that one direction brought on to them.
