Sia is the short form of "kwasia", a humorous offensive word commonly used by some people in Ghana. The humor associated with it makes the word not that offensive. It is mostly taken as a joke. No Ghanaian hears "sia" and gets angry; they rather laugh instead.

Sia Kate Isobelle Furler (born 18 December 1975), sometimes referred to mononymously as Sia (/ˈsi ə/), is an Australian singer and songwriter. She started her career as a singer in the local Adelaide acid jazz band Crisp in the mid-1990s. In 1997, when Crisp disbanded, she released her debut studio album titled OnlySee on Flavoured Records in Australia.
