A specific thing that causes a mentally ill individual's brain to go into a state of hypervigilance. The thing that triggers them makes them feel unsafe and or threatened. Contrary to popular belief, this does not just occur in people with PTSD, though it is much more common in people with PTSD and a type of anxiety disorder.

a memory like a place smell or the way someone use to do something. Eg an ice cold beer a warm tingling sensation moving through your body,a very finely cut line with a nice rolled up note sharing it, smoke rolling around a glass bowl as you inhale into your lung, a needle into your arm an immediate relaxation of the body like heaven, rolling a joint with friends at a party lighting it up.
