Typically poptards are characterized by an lack of understanding or misunderstanding of all referential humor. This can ultimately alienate that person when outside his or her immediate friend group as the poptard lacks essential knowledge which can help them feign mutual interests when dating; this can be a serious problem unless of course the poptard is extremely good looking in which case everyone will pretends not to notice.
