Someone who likes a band/artist/actor who becomes totally aggressive whenever anyone else says that they like them. They are considered fake fans because they try as had as they can to put down anyone else who likes the same thing as them. They can be identified pretty easily, as when you mention liking something, they will immediately test you and label you as a fake fan if you get one fact about them wrong.

A fake fan is someone who has recently discovered a new film, series, artist, or book and despite only recently learning about it, still claims that they have superior knowledge and refer to it so frequently that it eventually becomes outright disrespectful to the original, larger fan base. Some examples of films which have been plagued by fake fans are suicide squad, deadpool and the recent 'It' film.
"Hey? Did you hear Ryan over there quote the new 'It' film? I bet he hasn't seen the original or read the book."

A fake fan is a person who heard about an artist or band 10 minutes ago, is already “in love with them”, starts posting stuff only about them. Forgets about that artist in like two days. Uses the artist to be “edgy” or different. They get really defensive or aggressive when you expose them. Usually only listen two the most popular songs and don’t listen to the whole album including old music just was popular.

commonly used for people who do not have any respect for their idol’s privacy and would go any lengths to prove their idol’s whereabouts and their own point right even if it means leaking their idol’s address even when you know they have faced something traumatic a few months back.

A Fake Football Fan (or Glory supporter) claims they support a football team with huge interest, but in a matter of fact have only supported them for them winning a trophy or because their friends support them . Many fake fans support Manchester United, but there are many others. Many fake fans "swot" up on their desired clubs facts and spit these facts out at you and every possible moment, to prove their support for the club. But in real terms, they never have watched them in the skin and have only watched them on television. Also, some fake fans my buy replica shirts as well, and wear these at every possible moment to prove their support.
