pouffant

Originally from the French meaning "bursting out." From the verb, pouffer: to burst out. In English it has become an expression of exasperation. "We're burst out of luck."

pronounced: POOF-ahhn

Person 1: The restaurant is closed.
Person 2: ohhhhhh, pouffant.
