Used as a phrase in Sweden, describing someone that in the orienteering initiative HittaUt chooses to only collect the easy checkpoints in a town, before rapidly moving on to the next town. This in an attempt to artificially inflate their total checkpoint count, without the generally assumed corresponding degree of effort it would require had they collected all, or almost all, in a town before starting to collect checkpoints in a new town.

Some religions believe körsbärsplockare will be reincarnated as a checkpoint pin or even a sankmark.
Körsbärsplockare. When I saw how tricky those 30 checkpoints in Bredaryd looked, I was so tempted to körsbärsplocka and drive to Varberg instead of finishing off Värnamo.

A: I took 600 checkpoints during my two weeks vacation! I'm a beast,.
B: It depends. Did you complete or almost complete most towns or körsbärsplockade you?
A: Unfriended.

To bring along his or hers bicycle far beyond what appears optimal in terms of the combination of energy conservation, time and injury avoidance while HittaUt. It is called MTB-fällan because participants with an MTB or a bicycle similar to an MTB appears to be more prone to fall into this behaviour compared to users with a more traditional bicycle.

The factors contributing to this behaviour are not yet properly understood, despite billions of kronor being spent on researching the topic annually.

Stig, a professor at both the TSP (TravellingSalesmanProblem) and Forest Psychology (and also an enthusiastic postage stamp collector), has hypothesized that the behaviour emerges from a combination of factors. He said:
Some people have too high expectations of their bicycle's off-road capabilities. Also one may easily over-estimate how fast you really go while bringing the bike along outside established paths while at the same time underestimating the speed had you walked or run. It is also easy to underestimate how quickly you get fatigued from cycling in pure forest. Lastly, some may feel like it's a sign of bad planning if you are forced to backtrack in the exact same route as you approached one or more checkpoints, but that is obviously not necessarily the case!" said Stig and couldn't help from laughing.

It was about at that point we stopped listening to Stig.
A: It was so tough to carry my bicycle up to that large hill to collect those 8 checkpoints.
B: LOL n00b. You totally went into mtb-fällan. I took them by foot in under an hour. You should have parked the bicycle and taken them by foot. What were you thinking about?

A: My MTB that I really want to utilize at all costs, especially when it makes no sense.

C: After only 30 meters into the forest I realized I was about to go into mtb-fällan, so I locked my bicycle and went on by foot. That saved me a lot of energy, frustration and time.

D: I broke my bicycle and nearly also my arm when I fell off the cliff close to checkpoint 62 when I lost control of my bicycle. Now I know why people warned me about MTB-fällan.
