Assist

1. A statistic in sports, mainly hockey and soccer, when you pass the object in play to a teammate who then scores.

2. A statistic in first-person shooters that shows how many times you tried to kill an enemy but your teammate had to finish the job.

1. In an ice hockey game, I got an assist by passing across the ice to my teammate who then shot and scored.

2. In Call of Duty I shot a guy in front of me only for him to strafe away and I got an assist after he ran right into my teammate's bayonet.

Battlefield Earth

A movie so horrible that not only was it a critical and box office epic fail, but its producer, Franchise Pictures, was convicted in court over it due to a scam in which the film's budget was overstated. Not to mention an indelible scar in John Travolta's career. And cult status for the movie in the future? HAAAAAAAAAAAH!

In short, Battlefield Earth was so bad that the producers were convicted of a crime. That simple.

Nationals

A dismal Major League Baseball team that despite a move from Montreal, still hasn't gotten over the 1994 baseball strike.

Given that the Nationals (then Expos) went 74-40 in 1994 and were tied for the best record in baseball before the strike, the loss of morale led to season after season of dismay.

A purely Hasidic Jew community in Orange County, New York. Given that the women have prolific amounts of children and don't work after giving birth to their second child the town is among the poorest in the United States.

Upstate

Any of New York State not including New York City, Long Island, or Westchester or Rockland Counties.

The Adirondacks, the Albany region, same with Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, and whatever of New York state more than 45 minutes away from New York City or Long Island is referred to as Upstate New York.

Battlefield Earth

Perhaps the worst motion picture ever released, not just because of how bad of a movie it was, but due to the criminal fraud charges levvied on the producers, Franchise Pictures, for overstating the film's budget in an attempt to scam investors.

If you are looking for a movie so bad that it was a crime to produce, Battlefield Earth is the perfect example.
