A person who used to swim, but has either quit, or retired from the sport. Derived from the word, "swam"

Top 

The top of a paceclock, otherwise known as the "60". Used by swimmers and coaches during practices to communicate the time to begin swimming.

Swimmer: When are we leaving? Coach: On the top!
