Paul Ward's definitions
A condition where a person cannot find sleep, and therefore life enjoyment goes out the window. I consider myself a chronic insomniac and have been this way for the past month and so I do not know when I will ever have a good night's sleep again.

Get the Insomniamug. Ahem, I do believe that New Zealand is growing up and a very very worthy friend to Australia and always has been and therefore is worthy of respect. My version goes like this. A few people in New Zealand do tend to be juvenile towards Australia, however, some Australians tend to respond to that (or start it) by being arrogant. That aside, New Zealand has provided a great deal of assistance to Australia with regards to East Timor, Solomon Islands, etc. and therefore, neither patronising attitudes, nor a chip on the shoulder will not help. It has taken time, but New Zealand is growing up, hopefully encouraged to do so by many Australians, instead of being thought of as a child.
Australian 1: Instead of wanting to be isolationist and juvenile, New Zealand is growing up.
Australian 2: Come again?
Australian 1: East Timor, Solomon Islands, it was just that lack of confidence that held them back.
Australian 2: Oh right, well that's good to hear, I was wondering when NZ would grow the fuck up.

Get the New Zealandmug. Kind sir, as it happens, I'm a Canadian myself, and many Canadians I know, are quite fond of Kiwis and of New Zealand. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we in Canada living under America's shadow, (although this is a very mature and fine nation albeit not home to some of the best people). I do agree however that New Zealand is suffering from a higher instance, "little brother syndrome" all right? A lot like us at one point although we are overcoming it. New Zealand also suffers from a "cultural cringe" and yes is far from perfect, but as opposed to a low economy, NZ is actually doing relatively well, given it's isolation and what have you. I completely refute any reference to "sheep shagging" although to be fair, there are probably a minority of people in NZ who need to root them. And yes New Zealand lacks confidence in itself point taken, and there is a lot of catching up to do in this area, but there was a time when Canada lacked confidence in itself and some would argue, still do.

Get the New Zealandmug. You people might want to do something about the chips on your shoulders. Good grief only neanderthals assume that because a person of a certain nationality talks in a certain way or does something to a certain animal then everyone else does it. Steve Irwin has just died numbnuts. He was a bloody legend in every sense of the word, who had a great passion for his promotion of the Australian environment and wildlife. I was shocked to read of his death this afternoon so will you flaming chip-on-the-shoulder ridden clowns do something good for yourselves and knock them off?
RIP Steve

Get the Steve Irwinmug. The biggest city in New Zealand. By Australian and world standards needs to catch up in terms of public transport and livability, although I think this is starting to happen so I am not bitching too much.

Get the Aucklandmug. Actually what Canada is to the USA, is what New Zealand is to Australia. A country full of quiet folks who keep their noses out of everyone else's business, a lot of the time. I don't know if anyone ever told you, but the pair of them fought together.
There are possibly 2% of people in New Zealand who shag sheep but just about every other country has them too.

Get the New Zealandmug. FTR Canada is actually the best friend of the United States of America as opposed to that "great piece of crap" up north. And also for the most part Canadians and Americans do like each other so this "bitching" you so talk about doesn't really apply except to minority groups.
Person 1: What's that great piece of crap up north?
Person 2: That's no piece of crap at all loser, that's Canada the best friend of the United States of America.
Person 1: OK
