Ahem, I do believe that New Zealand is growing up and a very very worthy friend to Australia and always has been and therefore is worthy of respect. My version goes like this. A few people in New Zealand do tend to be juvenile towards Australia, however, some Australians tend to respond to that (or start it) by being arrogant. That aside, New Zealand has provided a great deal of assistance to Australia with regards to East Timor, Solomon Islands, etc. and therefore, neither patronising attitudes, nor a chip on the shoulder will not help. It has taken time, but New Zealand is growing up, hopefully encouraged to do so by many Australians, instead of being thought of as a child.
Australian 1: Instead of wanting to be isolationist and juvenile, New Zealand is growing up.
Australian 2: Come again?
Australian 1: East Timor, Solomon Islands, it was just that lack of confidence that held them back.
Australian 2: Oh right, well that's good to hear, I was wondering when NZ would grow the fuck up.

Get the New Zealand mug.A mostly great and beautiful land of generally intelligent people who are not racist. As has already been stated, Australians have a friendly rivalry going with New Zealand. However, despite the sheep jokes the "fish and chips" bit there is a fondness for New Zealand behind it all. Despite Australia's image being "tarnished" recently, Australia will be able to hold her head high when little Johnny retires. The problem is, however, there is no alternative government to vote for.
Despite sentiments to the contrary, Australian society as a whole is not that racist. Hell, there are so many cultures living in Australia aren't there, you are bound to have a few tensions from time to time. I think it is important that people realise only a minority of Australians are racist thugs. The rest, are great people.

Get the Australia mug.One who hangs out at airports all day. Airport bums can be found at airports of all shapes and sizes, from a big major airport handling 747's to the airport that doesn't handle anything bigger than a Dash 8. I am one myself and am proud of it.

Get the airport bum mug.A condition where a person cannot find sleep, and therefore life enjoyment goes out the window. I consider myself a chronic insomniac and have been this way for the past month and so I do not know when I will ever have a good night's sleep again.

Get the Insomnia mug.Poster of # 53 how old are you five or something? That aside, NZ is still an awesome country, very similar to Canada:
Bilingual
Large concentration of Scottish migrants in Otago (Nova Scotia for Canada)
A Big brother country next door, called Australia (US for Canada). Australia has been very influential in New Zealand life and history why else do you think all the definitions here mention Australia, in much the same way the US has been a big influence on Canada, despite all that Australia and the US do love Canada and NZ a lot. This is becoming more realised in Canada and NZ and so that love and respect is increasingly returned.
Largest tower in the Northern/Southern Hemispheres. CN Tower for Toronto, Skytower for Auckland.
Neither of them joined in the Iraq fracas upsetting their respective big siblings at the time. However, they did both send troops to Afghanistan.
Conclusion of post.

Get the New Zealand mug.A beautiful country in the South Pacific a respected country that should not hate Australians and in turn Australians should not hate New Zealand our two nations are supposed to be allies, Ansett and underarm bowling be damned. They have fought on Australia's side. I for one am glad that some of the more childish definitions have been removed and we can start reading some proper stuff.
In conclusion many Aussies out there think NZ rocks. Trust me.

Get the New Zealand mug.Damn right. Canada is a brilliant country, not without it's faults but what country doesn't have them. Other countries (Canada's close friends and allies) all have their good and bad points too. Let's stop this sledging off of one another and try and get on.
