specific to videocards, although can be performed on motherboards and RAM, voltmodding is the procedure in which the user manually adds another component, usually a variable resistor, to a PCB, in order to tweak voltages that were once thought untweakable! however, it is much more dangerous than simply raising voltage in your BIOS and can result in components deep-frying themselves
i voltmodded my radeon 9800 pro, and now i can reach 480mhz core speed
